JD Vance is soft on crime & hard-on for fascism.

I think you mean soft on crime, hard-on for couches

This comment is stupid. Can we stop imitating the right and talk about the actual issues at hand?

Sure, which issue were you wanting to talk about that you instead felt the need to lambast me for some humor?

Actually scratch that. You're free to go talk about serious issues at hand while I make a joke. Believe it or not, we can do multiple things at once considering we are more than one person.

The descent of the country that spends the most money on its military into fascism seems to me a bigger deal than a gossip story about the VP.

I’m not “anti-humor” but there’s a place and a time for everything, and what you perceive as a jolly bit of fun is instead diluting the true argument at stake.

[–] Oni_eyes@sh.itjust.works 3 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

According to you. While you're welcome to your opinion on it, I do not have to agree. Especially when you have no evidence to support your assertion that we must only respond in X fashion to Y event or risk diluting the "true argument".

I counter with: only serious and doomer talk risks alienating and wearing down the people you need to help out.

The people we need to help out is the other half of the country, which you’re alienating with your couch joke. This is such a terrible argument.

We only need a portion of them, and a lot of the easiest ones to get enjoy crass jokes and already don't like JD so..... Cater to the audience
