One of the major yearly exams got leaked in India last month so the BJP has been trying to suppress that news for some weeks now.

So they've launched a racism campaign against China where Indian bot accounts have "discovered" a secretive caste system in China which apparently is worse than the Indian caste system.

They're using two things to support their claims:

Four Occupations System which has not existed for centuries
Hukou system which is the Soviet Internal Passport system

This is just 100% cope to feel good about living in a failing state that is India.

Indian right wing started spamming misinformation about the Four Occupations in order to justify the rigid Indian caste system. This spamming drew responses from several Chinese scholars, who argued that the two systems were historically distinct. According to scholars, attempts to characterize the Four Occupations as a caste system overlook important distinctions between occupational classification and hereditary social stratification of Indian Caste System. Scholars further suggested that such comparisons are done deliberately to deflect attention from the prevailing social inequalities of the caste system in India itself. As one scholar summarized the sentiment, "If we drag everyone else down to our level, our own mess doesn't look so bad."

Scholars participating in the discussion generally emphasized that the Four Occupations functioned primarily as an occupational and ideological framework rather than a rigid hereditary caste order in India.[179]
