I was exposed to the fact these exist at work, which has a few. Promptly decided to get one for my home. I was typically the type of person to run away from bugs. Now, armed with an electric flyswatter, I can do anything! Debugging my workplace and my house one fly at a time.

People do that?

Somehow this feels like the test where some people sit in a room with a button that gives them a shock, and some people will just sit, and others will administer the hurtful shock to themselves to avoid boredom.

Risk-averse, not a fan of physical pain, and luckily female so I've never been socially pressured and called names for not wanting to do what I see as the equivalent of hitting the shock button.

That's all very logical and thought out but one day you may be bored or curious enough to try it and I hope to hear about it
