Maybe not in the preference but I think there is a fundamental difference in terms of the actual product. Porn as an industry tends to be a lot more exploitative for the people featured in its media, whereas I don't think the same is true with the romance novel industry when writing about fictional characters. (Don't get me wrong the latter can be problematic too but I think they're on completely different levels)
