what's the deal with xizang/tibet and mining waste? i've heard accusations they're just dumping it in the lakes and rivers and making the place unlivable. what's the truth beyond the liberal stuff?
I think it would be easier to answer if we knew what specific story you are referring to and what the source is.
I will say one thing though, which is that Tibet is very large and very sparsely populated. You would have to try very hard to specifically dump next to the very few places where people actually live.
Not to mention that this goes against the general trend that China has been on for more than a decade now where they have put a lot of political emphasis on cleaning up and protecting the environment.
Is there still waste and dumping happening? Probably. But not nearly to the same extent it was twenty-thirty years ago.
it would be easier if i knew too. it's a story relayed to me by a liberal i know. the general idea as i recall it was that china treats tibet like the us treats the congo, in that they don't care because it's ethnic minority land. the accusation is they dump runoff and waste directly into the nearest body of water which is why they can produce rare earths so cheaply and easily.
Well, you know, if something is asserted without evidence it can be dismissed without evidence. It's up to the person making the claims to back those claims up with evidence, not you to find evidence to debunk them.
libs don't even cite bullshit BBC articles anymore when you ask for proof, they just say "dude..."
