Makes you wonder about tech oligarchs who read scifi and always misinterpret it. Rather than warnings of unbridled power, they seem to view stuff like 1984, Snowcrash, Dune, etc as guides.

To these narcissist everything that enables them to sit on top while the vast majority of people is miserable is unfortunately work as inspiration.

Many of them actively seek to replace most people with robots; but they will keep a few humans as pets and slaves to sate their egos.
