A place to discuss comic books of all types, from old to new, Big 2 to indie, and everything in between.

Floppies, graphic novels, compilations, omnibusses (omnibusi?) are all fair game.

There is only one rule:*

Comic Books is a no judgement zone.

You can talk all you want about how Rob Liefeld is trash, Bob Kane is an asshole, or Frank Miller and Dave Sim’s politics have made them toxic, that’s all good.

If, however, another user is LEGITIMATELY a fan of something you don’t like, that does NOT make them a lesser person. Attack the art for being bad, not the person for being a fan of bad art.

* I lied. There are TWO rules... No piracy. Cover shots? That's good. Interior pages, in moderation? Sure. Full books? Links to pirate sites? That's how we get things shut down. :(

I'm not saying it's been a problem, because it hasn't been.

I enjoyed the hell out of Mister Terrific Year One, but that was only 6 issues IIRC. May, 2025 to January, 2026. You'd think after the star turn in the Superman movie he'd get an ongoing.

The Terrifics comic led by Mister Terrific was excellent and incorporated Tom Strong's multi-racial family about 1/2 way through, but ended up getting cancelled after 27? 28? issues due to poor sales.

The last few issues never even saw print, they were digital only. If you wanted a print copy you had to buy the last graphic novel collection.

The last time they tried a Steel book, it was hot garbage. Same for the most recent Cyborg solo book, 2023 to 2024.

Before Green Lantern Corps, Jo had her own book that was worth reading called "Far Sector", but it was only a 12 issue run and after that (but before Corps) it was like DC didn't know what to do with her. She'd pop up in the annual Pride books and that was about it.

Marilyn Moonlight has a KICK-ASS design. I'd love to know more, but so far she's been limited to a c-list supporting character in the Superman titles, hardly present at all.

I'd also suggest the magazine sized "Other History of the DC Universe" which goes over a lot of overlooked minority characters.
