Theoretic question. Do you think if Jews made a moonbase and lived there people would leave them alone? Or do you think we’d start hounding them through the far reaches of space?

Because I think mankind would fixate on it and try to destroy them there too.

When your statement is so silly even Matt Yglesias can't go along with it.

There are tons of unhinged anti-Israel takes out there but it’s clearly the case that the presence of millions of Palestinians living under Israeli rule is a major factor in external perceptions of the Jewish state — paranoia is not helpful.

Yet another case of Do Not Invent the Torment Nexus.

A lunar mass-driver is a major part of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.

Edit: As pointed out, I'm a liiiiiittle bit (completely) wrong. The mass-driver was a good thing in the book (a tool of exploitation turned into a weapon of liberation). So it's closer to "Please Invent the Freedom Nexus".

Is the lunar mass-driver a bad thing in The Moon is a Harsh Mistress? Because if it is then Heinlein did some inventing the torment nexus of his own given that he was advising the Reagan administration on... well, sci fi weapons, along with Larry Niven and jerry Pournelle

The lunar mass driver was a good thing in The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, it allowed the inmates of the lunar penal colony to gain their independence from earth

Oh, true! Uh, hm, uh. I didn't think over the connections I was drawing very well, and just jumped to the meme categorisation instead of a better explication of the idea - that they'd gotten the concept from Heinlein and thought they were just like the protagonists.
