near, middle and far east are late 19th century terms. near east was the ottoman empire, far east was china and everything in between was technically middle east but it usually only referred to iran, arabian penisula and afghanistan (british india was excluded).

Near east was anything west of the Persian gulf, middle east was anything east of it ubtil we got to the far east.

The "Near east" would include the Arabian peninsula, Iraq, Iran, the Levant, Cyprus and Egypt. So yeah "Ottoman Empire" if you're extremely generous

To quote wikipedia

According to the National Geographic Society, the terms Near East and Middle East denote the same territories and are "generally accepted as comprising the countries of the Arabian Peninsula, Cyprus, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestinian territories, Syria, and Turkey".[6]

The West and the Easts implies that they are West and East of something, so, which do you think is supposed to be the center of the world in this system? Greek-occupied Constantinople or European-occupied Jerusalem?

... "The west". There's no actual axis mundi necessary here. And no axis mundi would be correct, because these are loose definitions made for ease of use by open white supremacists in a geopolitical context older than anyone alive

"East" is "East" of "West".

Yes white supremacists define themselves by not being of "the other" all the time! That is pretty much exclusively what defines "white" or "west" today!

Edit:I mean Australia and sometimes Japan get to be in the club, and look at a map!
