This is very clearly a shadow from a light.
I've been in tv for more than a decade. worked in news for 5. I teach at a college on live production lighting, cinematic lighting, and film production.
This is a shadow. From a light.
And others have said this also. But most of our eyes are not seeing this. Can you elaborate? Have there been other examples of this? It looks so much like a freakin mask.....
They're blasting light from below onto his neck and its hitting the collar, creating a shadow.
