From what I've heard and seen, it is, yes, even if the prose is a bit awkward and scenes tend to drag on at times. I'm planning on reading it soon.

There is a Mac version in the download section, it should work fine (hopefully). There's also this guide which should help you with the process. Also forgot to tell you this, but Battler is a bit creepy in the first half, but he thankfully tones it down as the series progresses.
