Just started playing it last week and the thing that really struck me so far is how well done the tutorials are. They're broken down into separate sections that form one continuous development sequence and you can stop and start anytime. Also, they give you the perfect amount of control in each tutorial without letting you derail the process (which I will do every time, given half a chance).
So far my favourite has been the Storage Management tutorial, because when it's over it doesn't pull you back out to the menus and you can just observe the crew of the two ships going about their business, click on all the equipment to see what it is and get a sense of good equipment placement for as long as you like.
I'm 3 hours in and still haven't left the tutorials yet but that's my issue cos I get overwhelmed really easily.
That's good to hear, I feel like the ramp up/onboarding is the Achilles Heel of many indie games.
I also often mess up tutorials by something different. :)
