Tankies can explain their views, but may be criticised or challenged for them. Any minor infraction of the rules may result in a warning and possibly a temporary ban.
You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically last only 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction doubles the duration. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.

NGL, saw a post the other day about rimu stepping back from some of the posting etc to focus more on development. Which certainly would have been the right thing to do. And this the wrong thing. Though I don't think I would fault him completely.
I'd say that in the long run all he managed to really accomplish with this was to create a few martyrs. But a number of the ones that he banned had been somewhat obnoxious and very vocal about their disagreement with the way he was developing things. There'd been a lot of bad faith accusations against him too.
Frankly I'm not all too keen on a lot of the filtering Etc that he's setting up often times by default. Even if it can be disabled. It would be better for people to opt into if they really wanted it. Having checkboxes or Fields directly in the setup or settings to turn them on and off rather than obscure text files somewhere in the hierarchy.
I think there's definitely a lot of drama AstroTurf going on around this subject and possibly others.
You can see all the hardcore tankies playing cheerleaders under each of the many posts accusing Rimu of stuff too. They really hate piefed and I have no doubts they were stirring shit up in the background to some extent. There may be something to their grievances, and I'm certainly not saying the accusers are all tankies themselves, but just looking at the comments together with some dishonest details in the posts themselves was enough for me to leave quokk.au yesterday.
I just hope this blows over in time, unlikely as it is.
For many of them this is as close as they will ever get to being able to point the finger at others for doing what they're known for. They feel it justifies them instead of making them hypocrites.
Not all people in the screenshot are tankies (or, at least, known to me), but some are. And those are probably the most vocal and annoying of them.
I'm not talking about the screenshot, but the bunch of threads aimed at Rimu I saw in the past week or two. Mostly on PTB at db0
is that why that STAMENTS do had a freakout over his mental health a few months ago, i remember him complaining about the main PIEFED instances. although he has mentla issue he shouldve taken care of, instead of going on lemmy.
I really don't know much about the staments situation other than them moving to db0. But there has been a lot of astroturfed drama around piefed. Every time I look into what's being shouted about there's almost never anything to it. Or it's wild hyperbole. I could see how it would push those terminally online to bad places.
