Sort of yeah, though there was the war crimes trial putting a at least symbolic end to the Nazis.

Also there were reforms to stop that shit from happening again.

Until we see something similar there won't be a specific turning point, making trust harder to come by.

If no reforms are put in place to prevent a regime like this from coming to power again, why should the rest of the world trust the US?

If the US abolishes FPTP completely, which it won't, then the timeline to trust will be accellerated.

Absolutely, reforms would have to start first. But the way you phrased it made it sound like it would take centuries after reforms were started, which is very unlikely.

The US losing a massive amount of soft power that will never be recovered, though, that's extremely likely.

Ah, my point was that even if the US starts reversing everything that Trump has done (won't happen), without actual reforms, trust will take a long, long time to be reestablished.
