hell yeah.

i've only second seated once. i had a friend who flew for united. he had a friend who had a four seater and he took all us kids at church up when we were teenagers (and responsible enough. not complete fuckups. the promise of doing this helped keep us being "good" kids) and let us fly second seat for half an hour. i may have grown up in a cult but i got a free half hour of piloting lessons out of it and that was pure unadulterated joy and freedom for 30 minutes.

growing up near an air base, everyone wants to be a fighter pilot and every kid's parent spends their childhood telling them why they won't get to. but damn, it's pure joy up there in the sky.
