It's a fair point.

My city's about to get a new baseball stadium, and people are actually whining that they might have to park their car somewhere other than the stadium and walk.

And, mind you, we have a five-mile long, free passenger train that will take them right to the stadium. It's not gonna be hard to get there.

From what I can tell about 90% of Americans respond to phrases like "passenger train" with sheer panic.

And here, this conversation is kind of a re-tread of the past 10 years where we had to fight to get the passenger train, because all these drivers couldn't be bothered to give up a lane of traffic. Unfortunately that's just a fact of life in a sprawled American city, but luckily, the city fucking loves the train so it's that much harder for suburbanites to find support.
