If by "alright" you mean in a similar position to the one they occupied from 1945-2016, they'll never be alright. That situation was the result of a very specific set of circumstances (being the only major power left standing after World War II) and maintained through inertia. Once that inertia's gone, it's not coming back.
I meant alright as in functional democracy and an ok life for poor people
