I disagree with where they call the US loss in Vietnam insignificant. Had the US won Vietnam they would of had a staging ground to pressure China with land forces, potentially robbing China of the breathing room needed to focus on civilian economic development over immediate defense concerns. Afghanistan I think is debatable but I'll leave that for others.
More importantly, Vietnam showed that, as my favorite game quote used to say:
Let's not forget Korea, the first bloody nose and reality check for the mighty, unstoppable US empire after WW2.
For sure, Vietnam was one of the biggest setbacks for the empire.
