While caffeine is the major individual component of coffee, the study suggests that it may not be the primary driver of these health effects.

Instead, a range of naturally occurring compounds — many also found in fruits and vegetables — appear to play a larger role.

I just imagine some researcher on their third pot of coffee that evening, head aching and dehydrated. Frenetically compiling evidence that their crippling caffeine dependency, is actually very good for them and their physical and mental health, thank you very much.
