I mean, can he be expected to know about people who he doesn’t see on TV? Only people on TV are real!
These nomination tend to trickle down from the President's inner circle and Congressional allies. So if he's surrounded himself with media hacks, of course all his subsequent picks are going to be from that same corona of influencers and talking heads.
