The donut dough is nothing like the donut dough in US of AmeriKKKa. This is basically the same yeasted dough that is used to make pulla (sweet bread), it has lots of cardamon in it. I make these with sourdough as the levener.

happy May Day! sima is fucking delicious.
It's so good. I use my sourdough starter to make it and I don't what type of yeast is at work in there that does this, but it makes the sima bubbles almost like the ones in prosecco or cava.
