A place to discuss and support all Steam Hardware, including Steam Deck, Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and SteamOS in general.
As Lemmy doesn't have flairs yet, you can use these prefixes to indicate what type of post you have made, eg:

If your post is only relevant to one hardware device (Deck/Machine/Frame/etc) please specify which one as part of the title or by using a device flair.
These are not enforced, but they are encouraged.
Rules:
- Follow the rules of Sopuli
- Posts must be related to Steam Hardware or Steam OS in an obvious way.
- No piracy, there are other communities for that.
- Discussion of emulators are allowed, but no discussion on how to illegally acquire ROMs.
- This is a place of civil discussion, no trolling.

I'd almost bet it's the frame over the machine given the reduced RAM needed
If they're expecting people to use the Frame with the Machine, then they'd probably want the Machine on the market first. I'm not totally clear on the strategy. They obviously made it "standalone", but will there be enough content to release it as such?
I certainly plan to buy it specifically to use with the Machine.
I think their plans got thrown out the window with said RAM and hard drive issues and now they're just trying to make it work.
Makes sense.
I won't be buying the Machine because I have a perfectly good Linux PC as is. I'll be using the Frame with that.
You could use the Frame with any other pc too, so no content concerns
I plan to run the frame off my laptop, don't really need a second computer for it.
