If we're talking about paywalled content, I could possibly agree with you. However, for nonpaywalled content, if a poster asks a question or makes a comment contradicted by the article, it shows they couldn't even be bothered to click on a link. Why you think a poster would make the effort to read a large block of text if it was posted?

When someone is asking a question directly answered by the article its telling me they want everyone else to read the article for them and summarize it. That's just rude. If they want that, why not feed the article to an LLM. Is it laziness or something else?

I'm far more likely to read the article if it's right there (though I'd read it if I have further questions). It's much less friction, plus many sites are very unpleasant to read on mobile. Cookie banner, do you want to sign up to our newsletter?
