πΊπΈπͺπΊ Washington has drawn up a NATO "naughty and nice" list, punishing allies who refused to join its war on Iran.
The White House tiered ranking, prepared ahead of NATO chief Mark Rutte's Washington visit, separates alliance members by their loyalty to US operations.
Countries that opened their bases or backed Operation Epic Fury, Romania, Poland, the Baltics, are in line for more troops and military cooperation. Those who refused, like Spain, France, and the UK, face consequences including troop withdrawals and reduced arms sales.
Romania stood out. Its expanded Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base was used directly for the air campaign against Iran.
Poland already funds nearly the entire cost of hosting 10,000 US troops and is firmly in Washington's good graces.
Spain was already on thin ice for resisting NATO's 5% spending target. France and the UK stalled or rejected US requests outright.
The message from Washington is blunt: back America's wars or get cut off. What's left unsaid is that the US has few real leverage tools. Moving troops is costly, slow, and mostly hurts American readiness, not European security.
