My dad and I are pretty close. I remember pretending to be asleep in the car as a kid so he would carry me inside.

I remember being small enough to sit on his shoulders at a county fair.

I even remember him bathing my sister and I when we were really young and he would always give us extra bubble bath and make sure we didn't get soap in our eyes when rinsing our hair. (Like age 5-7).

Even that close. He never put his hands on my waist in my life. I never sat on his knee or lap. He never came into my room while I was dressing or anything weird like that.

He never kissed me on the mouth but only the top of my head.

He never made any comments about my body, ever.

Some people excuse these images. Saying it was normal fatherly affection.

It wasn't.

I am close to my dad. We were never like those images. That's not fatherly affection.
