Do trans men actually have that much of an advantage when transitioning, or is it just that people don't care as much?

i don’t think there’s any innate advantage, but on average, trans men transition earlier than trans women, so that may have something to do with it

there’s also that, if you don’t pass, being seen as a masculine woman is much less risky than being seen as a feminine man (i’m talking the "man-in-a-dress" stereotype here, not femboys and such), so trans women are more likely to do the "boymode until you can pass then go stealth forever"

honestly most of my trans men friends just prefer things like hunting and fishing (and especially finding cool bugs) over the internet.

I am not transmasc so this is just me speculating.

I think there would be some advantages that seemingly exist, but not really, and it's definetely still not as easy as "just stop doing makeup."

Long essay of my reasoing. We usually go "what's hard for me" and think from there. That doesn't consider the entire process tho.

For example they can dress as their gender even before starting HRT, and it would be seen as style rather than fetish. But if they ever show chest like instagram gym dudes can then it's considered outright porn.

There is more accepted body-types for male beauty standards. But in my experience average person actually looks for makeup/beard followed by voice followed by others last when assuming gender. Main bottleneck is still voicetraining.

Also all of this is in west so trans people in the middle east etc would have different cultural norms to fill in.

There are the biological disadvantages transfem people don't have to deal with too. For example human body can convert testostorone to estrogen but not opposite. So HRT may be complicated for them.

Don't forget puberty depends on sex, and transfem people have some advantage from there as well. In my case I hit puberty close to age of 17. I don't think many transmasc people had same experience.

In the end I think any advantage/disadvantage is just negligible.
