I think your particular feelings are more about you than gaming itself. Which is fine. As long as you try to prioritize the things you have to do (like work, study and/or care for your loved ones) you'll find a balance that works for you. You don't need to constantly play whatever is new either, many people find joy in older games (with or without nostalgia). Find out what you actually like and just play whatever that is.
eh i mean its not really New Games even as afterall i do also play Old Games that i grew up with :P
