I cleared the room, moved the bed and vacuumed more of the floor.

I found another short little whisker and a shed claw sheath. And tripped over Melbcat’s food bowl so I had to sweep all the uneaten biccies up into the bin. 💔Her water bowl has dried up. I still can’t believe it.Everything feels so bitter, lonely and sad.
Edit: I checked again and found a days old email about the black cat from an owner saying he’s desexed and microchipped. It’s like I feared 🫩 He’s a neglected outside cat. I’ve let the rescue lady know he may not be eligible for foster due to that. It’s lucky I checked again before taking him inside. (This cheap generic chip scanner can probably go in the bin.)
But now I’m in the situation I didn’t want to be. Where the cat isn’t being cared for and will keep coming to me - yet I can’t take him to the vet or find/give him a home. Even letting him crash overnight or confining him for ringworm treatment may be dicey. Worse than that he’s just one year off being a senior and the ringworm pills alone may not clear him up. And I’d bet money he’s not being vaccinated regularly.
And yeah I’m not minding my own business. But this cat was crying to be let in late at night while it rained and constantly sleeps on my property. The underside of his jaw was scratched bald and his fur was so patchy. Always hungry. I genuinely thought something happened to the owner or he had been dumped.
so many hugs
do what you can, the cat will appreciate it greatly, Even just food will strengthen him making him stronger and more able to fight disease
