While I agree with you, I think it's also the inevitable end state. I don't think we can forever win the battle of regulation against the corporations. It would mean having people in power continuously doing the right thing and not being swayed by money.

No, it would mean the people taking back the power and holding their representatives accountable, stringing them up when they capitulate to capital.

Yes, in theory democracy would be the stop gap.

But it turns out that democracy is only as good as the education and understanding of the public. I'm losing faith in that, as many many people have shown that they can't mature past mental teenagers.
