Bonus question: WTF is the point of this?
Is that the language selection? I believe communities are configured to allow posts/comments in selected languages, and then your personal feed can be configured to only show content in your language (and/or "undefined" as a catch-all).
yeah. but a lot of them are just "undetermined" and you can't post without setting it. that, to me, indicates that the community wasn't configured.
Ha, I just realized we're in a community that I set up.
I probably chose to keep all languages in one box (undetermined) if it gave me the option, because I remember back when I joined lemmy, there were some visibility issues when people were only seeing half of the posts in communities due to some posters choosing "English" and some choosing "undetermined" at random.
