Looks like they’re mostly continuing their stance announced earlier this year

Nissan raised its targets for EVs earlier this year, pledging to launch 19 new battery-electric models by 2030. It also said that by the 2026 fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, 98 percent of its sales in Europe would be electrified – fully electric cars and hybrids combined.

Leaf needed water-cooling / active heating on the battery. The batteries wear quickly with simple air cooling.

What I don't get in this picture is the Ioniq Electric. Those boys also only have fan cooling and resistance heating, but those batteries are a beast.

It turns out you don't need a lot of cooling, but you need some.

I dug into this a little bit, looks like the newer platforms have a cooling plate and heating for the battery https://www.ioniqforum.com/threads/the-ioniq-5-cooling-systems-diagrams.44015/

That said, I am no expert; I just saw some beat up Gen 1 Leafs when I was shopping for my EV and had to find out why.

I was talking about the Ioniq Electric. Which are the older 30 and 40kwh versions
