I dug into this a little bit, looks like the newer platforms have a cooling plate and heating for the battery https://www.ioniqforum.com/threads/the-ioniq-5-cooling-systems-diagrams.44015/
That said, I am no expert; I just saw some beat up Gen 1 Leafs when I was shopping for my EV and had to find out why.
I was talking about the Ioniq Electric. Which are the older 30 and 40kwh versions
