I don’t have faith in the justice system seeing it through, but this case does seem to be charging them with purposeful design of harmful features for the purposes of making money off exploitation kids, not just negligence.

Negligence is a failure to exercise reasonable care. If you set up your corporate controls in a way where negligence is expected then that’s not just negligence. The way this is going Meta will designate a mid-level patsy to take the blame while the decision makers adjust those controls slightly without intending for anything to change.
