I used to watch anime but haven't watched anything new in a while now. Have a 6 year old kid and thought it would be a good excuse to start watching some together with her. We just completed little witch academy and we have seen the ghibli movies. I'm seeking more series and movies that would be appropriate for kids and also not to boring for an adult to watch.

Ascendance of a Bookworm is likely good, though things are about to get a little confusing in the next season.

Spolier for what is likely the first bit of the next seasonMine is “forced” to leave her family, get “secretly” adopted into nobility, get adopted from that new family, and can’t even acknowledge her biological family as such.

Might be a little confusing for a young kid.

The earlier seasons are also not appropriate for a 6-year-old. Besewanst is threatening to kill Myne's family. A young kid might react very badly to this. Then there is an abduction attempt, the terrible situation in the orphanage, and the general disregard for human life by the nobility. I think people only remember the lighthearted moments from the show and are forgetting that there are a lot of very dark topics in the show.
