A) There's a punchline but it's a bit meh. B) Thar be haters. C) Rainbow egg?! We know they're gay already lol

I'd say, if it's constructive to say so, the author needs to work on the writing/subtext so that the comic doesn't do the heavy lifting through the speech bubbles (or the rainbow egg). I think the author needs an editor (another person) to vet ideas and writing, and get feedback.

It's more than halfway there. Just refer to A. and C.

C) Is the heavy handedness that all artists struggle with. Too much insults and turns off your audience and muddies the work itself. Too little and too much of a diverse audience is lost because they don't get it.

The best works are agonized over to punch hard, high and low, and balance for heavy handedness.
