Most people who drive ICE cars can't afford fancy hybrids or EVs.
Real classy looking down on them, but I guess the image fits.
I live in an apartment building. Kinda hard to have an EV with no way to charge it. Would definitely like one though.
When I lived in an apartment I used the standard 120V outlet to charge overnight, at some point I did add ~$40 to my rent to get a garage space and used that 120V outlet instead.
The ones I see around my complex just have like a communal charger from a local business lol, it's doable if people can come together and agree on something like that

Oh I'm sure they're paying something for that, but it's only a handful of cars so not that hard of a task
This is just one anecdote but when I was car shopping in 2022 in the US, my (non plugin) hybrid CRV cost $1000 more than the ICE version. Not really a lot more.
Last year I sold a used ICE car and bought a used Chevy Bolt for less money. It's been great.
