I wish all deceased United States and Israeli combatants in the invasion of Iran a very RIP bozo.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 6 points 1 day ago (5 children)

Americans are very much not for the invasion, and outright protesting it.

[–] RickyRigatoni@piefed.zip 16 points 1 day ago

We're not talking about americans in general, we're talking about people who knowingly signed up to murder children for oil.

[–] Klear@quokk.au 13 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Show me American soldiers protesting the invasion.

Just the stuff you can find, that has certain implications. Good luck getting anything thanks to this propaganda war.

There was also some warships toilets getting sabotaged and clogged iirc.

"Show me something I won't even look at anyway, smart guy."

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They're effectively slaves to the state in many ways meaning if they did theyre is a good chance of going to prison. Which if they have a family is a big ask for a lot of them, especially since the bulk of the military is made up of non-combat roles.

"I will rather bomb a school full of girls, than refuse orders"

Very morally correct stance /s

Your thinking is a big part of what's wrong with Americunts.

[–] Revolver1864@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

She clearly was, otherwise she wouldn't be wearing the uniform. Imagine dying for pedophiles smh.

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

People always act like being in the military just absolves them of all their personal moral obligations. It is the morally correct thing to refuse these orders even if it means going to prison. Yes believe it or not, you going to prison is better than you killing innocent people.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today -3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No guarantee she would actually have went with the attack on Iran. Did you see the soldier ruining USA's opsec by filming lazily his own radar system being blown up?

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It doesnt matter how you are involved with the war, if you help run a base, operate a drone or whatever else. You are still assisting war crimes.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today -2 points 1 day ago (2 children)

You can't view everything so black and white. These are normal people who signed up to do something they thought was right, only to be pushed into an unexpected war, their lives and livelihoods, their honor, their people at stake. But when push comes to shove, many of them just won't co-operate in the war, and those people aren't typically televised.

Many of us willingly or unwillingly participate in questionable systems, burning fossil fuels as a side-effect. This does not mean we want to, self-preservation is a thing. But for example: even though I depend on many of the goods going through the suez cannal, I root for it's closure, for the destruction of fossil fuels. I have a portable solar panel, and I want to transition to 100% energy independence and my own grown food.

Look at the army for freedom of Russia that is fighting it's own country. Quite a few defectors helping Ukraine.

You only make things worse by rejecting these people as scum, by not leaving any room for their humanity. You kill who you must to protect yourself, you try to get them to defect to your side, and you can't do that by damning them right away.

These people were just like you, believing they would rise up against their tyrannical government, and lay down their lives for the greater good, but it is not so simple or easy.

But when push comes to shove, many of them just won’t co-operate in the war

Uh, source? Or even convincing anecdotal evidence?

[–] mathemachristian@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Fucking clean wehrmacht myth but for yank troops lol

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"But have you considered having a nuanced opinion about the soldiers of a country that said it plans to flatten all of Iran" - No reasonable person ever

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today -4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Ok, so if your country goes to war, I expect you to instantly start shooting your own troops.

I just know that your way never works out in real life. The amount of death, destruction, horror that would come about of applying your ideology would be incomprehensible.

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

No but i would be okay with people calling them terrorists and celebrating them losing. I will always cheer for aggressors eating shit, no matter where they come from.

[–] mathemachristian@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The amount of death, destruction and horror that comes from yank troops not fragging their officers is already incomprehensible.

[–] Rekorse@sh.itjust.works 1 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

To be fair America has a staggering number of friendly fire incidents. They tend to kill allied military folk from other countries too. Oopsie Poopsie.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

Give it time, even Russians fragged their officers.

[–] schmups@lemmy.zip 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Severe amounts of moronic in this post if you're being genuine.

[–] Soulg@ani.social 1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Maybe people being killed is bad no matter who they are and an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind and all that

[–] schmups@lemmy.zip 1 points 9 hours ago

No, some people dying is definitely worse, moron :)

[–] bobzer@lemmy.zip 0 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Fuck around and find out and what not.
