UAE has big money and likes megaprojects, have they started digging a channel between Ras Al-Khaimah and Zaghi? Some tidy profits if they can do it.

If these kingdoms had built a pipeline skirting the strait, I guess it would still have been susceptible to missile & drone attack, and a 500-mile long, deep-underground pipeline was out of the question.

I know Saudi Arabia does have and east west pipeline that they can use to ship oil out and bypass the strait I just assume it doesnt have the capacity to match all the ships that usually take all the oil.

A canal along that approximate path would be "only" 34km. Questionable whether that, or a 500km buried pipeline, would be easier.

I always thought an Emirati Canal would probably make a whole lot of sense whenever Iran gets uppity (or vice versa, in this case).

Sure, it would still be susceptible to attack, but doing so would draw the UAE into war as well, and they'd have the ability to place land-based air defense along its route
