Was the guy actually supporting Hezbollah? Because that goes quite further than just supporting free Palestine.

genocide the UK is assisting is bad, but the real enemy are the resistance movements?

would you consider la resistance an illegitimate terrorist organisation? they conducted terror attacks on Germans? on their vital lands...

Wtf are you on about? Fucking tooling for the fascists that's what, gtfo.

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm in favor of people who fight fascists. even those whom fascists call "terrorists".

I don't let genociders decide who I'm allowed to support

Your points are nonsensical with all due respect. Please fuck off.

Idk how I came to take issue with your comment. It is not a bad comment on retrospection, I apologizze.

Have you considered who are the Hezbollah beyond their activity against Israel's crimes? Having one shared cause does not make them worthy of support, unless you do share more than that with them maybe. https://www.hrw.org/news/2023/08/01/anti-lgbt-rhetoric-undermines-rights-lebanon

Yes I would consider the Resistance illegitimate if they conducted attacks for an ideology that doesn't respect democracy and human rights.

nice pinkwashing you got in there, you know what else killed the most queer people in wherever Israel decides to conduct a genocide?

saying I support resistance movements, is not the same as me agreeing 100% with all their actions. Just because I support the French killing nazis, doesn't mean I have to enjoy French culture.

Plus, are you applying the same standards everywhere? Israel has an openly homophobic government, the US does too, would you consider them terrorists organisations (I do, but mostly because of their actual terrorism).

Pink washing? Where?

Yes, I am applying the same standards everywhere. Please don't assume I support Israel's government because I don't support Hezbollah, I hate the nefarious ideology and the crimes of both of them.

but it isn't a "both sides". one is a mighty military racist apartheid state conducting genocides and ethnic cleansing, the other is a local resistance movement. without Israel, Hezbollah or Hamas would not exist the way they do. and saying it should be illegal to support them because they are homophobic is a bullshit reason, given that they are fighting an homophobic state. not in favor of their homophobia, but I think they should have the right to resist illegal occupations and their own genocides.
