Yeah I was skipping over all of that and going hell no, it's broken!

On day 1 i was able to see files inside Windwos disk from linux, is it possible it's just a firmware issue ?

If it deteriorated by itself it's a sure sign of dying storage. So back up what you can, try repartitioning and see how it goes. But I would replace it.
