Imagine being the first homo sapien to pat a wolf?
There is a human, long deceased and who's name is lost to time, who got to be the first to pat a dog.
The movie Alpha covers this, sort of. It's fiction, nice caveman dog fiction. Not a deep film but nice.
And to all those that thought it would be fun to pat a sabre tooth, poisonous frog, giant bears etc, the gene pool thanks you for your service.
Nowadays, fast cars, meth and firearms are doing quite a good job in weeding a lot of non-viable idiots out of the gene pool. Especially in combination.
Imagine losing your arm to a wolf, then a few thousand years of selective breeding your ancestor loses a toe to an aggressive inbred pug.
