Users cannot assume that any post has been vetted and must do their own investigation.

RULES:

1. All mutual aid requests must go in this community.
2. Mods do not vet individual mutual aid requests. Donate at your own risk.
3. Do not request donations for funding anything explicitly illegal.
4. Comments giving unsolicited advice will be removed. (See below)
5. Comments or posts that are critical of any mutual aid post or user will be removed. (See below)
6. Posts containing opsec leaks will be removed.

Additionally:

• If you are open to non-monetary aid please indicate so in your post

• If you wish to provide unsolicited advice/resources, then please make a separate post in this community

• Other types of non-specific meta posts about other users may be made in the !feedback@hexbear.net community

• If you have concrete evidence of something even remotely suspicious, do not hesitate to bring it to the attention of a moderator for review via direct message

• We strongly advise you ask people to send you a direct message to obtain information regarding payment to prevent inadvertent opsec leaks.

• Please consider posting once a day and editing the title of a mutual aid post to include [Covered] or [Need Met] when a request has been satisfied or goal met.

• Consider not making comments about receiving large donations, or about what that money is spent on.

Moderator Pinning Rules:

• Moderators are strictly prohibited from promoting/endorsing/pinning individual mutual aid requests (especially those of their own) as this creates unfair post visibility and could therefore benefit more from that than the standard user. Moderators caught engaging in this behavior will be swiftly removed from the moderator board with extreme prejudice.

• Moderators are allowed to pin and crosspost donation requests for large scope issues such as natural disaster relief funds and bail funds ((Example)[https://hexbear.net/post/16574) along with other crowd or moderator-compiled informational resources pertaining to donating or volunteering (Example), so long as the utmost due diligence is done prior to endorsement, especially in the case of directing people to donate to non-profit organizations.

• Financial documents of non-profit organizations available to the public must be heavily scrutinized before moderator endorsement, and links to those must also be included in the endorsement post to help the community make their own decision if they should donate.
