It was basically standard procedure until the footage from the Vietnam War made it back to America and top brass realized how it might come back to haunt them.

Can't find it now but I found an article about this back in the day. The only picture I remember was american solders posing in front of what was clearly an entire village massacred and stack on eacht oher,.

bragging rights for murdering civilians? shouldnt that be an immediate court-martial, prison etc?
