American Dad is so much better than Family Guy for being pretty much the exact same show and I can’t explain to you why.

It’s because Seth Macfarlane was less involved with it than with Family Guy, from what I heard.

Crazy. I always just assumed he made family guy and it was such a hit moneymaker that he got to make the shows he actually wanted to. Like I loved Ted and 1000 ways to die in the west and the Orville.

Edit: I made this inference based on nothing but vibes.

Allegedly he got bored of it/busy with other shows after the first season. Who knows if he literally just rubber stamps it or is still involved but concentrating more on other stuff

It's because the family members in American Dad have actual heart. Stan and company are zany, but they really care about each other.
