I'd never seen either of the first two Evil Dead movies when I watched 'Army of Darkness.'

He instantly became one of my favorite actors.

Same! I saw Army of Darkness in the theater when it first came out. Didn't seem the Evil Dead films until years later (which is good, because I was 12).
