They had to stay still for 10 years for the photo to be taken! That’s quite a feat!
apparently, by 1900s waiting time in somewhat well lit area was down to under a minute (a few dozen seconds). but for color photos, they had to do this 3 times (one for each color filter), so there is still some motion.
