Diabetes is a major risk factor for AD. not new.

Once my Grandma lost being able to control her sugar well she basically forgot everything over the course of a couple years.

Not just diabetes - glucose instability (whether spikes or lows) are hugely influential to all sorts of disease processes, and is likely a major cause of coronary issues in the last 40 years (since the start of low-fat nonsense in the 80's).
