Thanks for subscribing to Cat Facts! As kittens, they have 26 deciduous, or “baby”, teeth. As adult cats they have 30 permanent teeth. Don’t forget to take care of those pearly whites with regular dental cleanings.

Cats can also get feline dental resorption lesions despite good dental hygiene. But it's often first spotted during a professional cleaning, as they're getting a good look at the teeth and especially if they take X-rays. Removing teeth is the only solution but will relieve a lot of pain you didn't even know they were enduring. And they can still eat just fine, even dry kibble!
