When the Dutch colonized/invaded Indonesia they started referring to these monkeys as 'orang belanda' or 'monyet belanda' (Dutchman/monkey). Because of our relative big noses. So I guess they were already onto something back then.

Those are Indonesian words.
'They' refers to the Indonesians here I think.
