Damn, I think I've still got a copy of pokemon Yellow in my cupboard somewhere. Good to know it can pay (a bit of) my rent for a week if I sell it on eBay I guess.
Yeah dawg that shits worth like... $100AUD if you replace the internal battery.
I was talking about Fire Red and Leaf Green though, those are worth even more for some reason, like $300AUD
It kind of sucks though. Used retro game carts used to be dirt cheap. I kind of miss getting a shitty old cart and restoring it, you know?
I guess there are always flash carts for the physical media lovers. Thank god for piracy.
Yeah, it really sucks. I didn't know the gen 1 games had internal batteries, I thought that was from gen 2 onwards. It really is awful how the "video game collectors" ruined retro gaming by treating old games like an "asset" to accrue wealth instead of ever actually wanting to play them.
Who cares about "retro gaming" when emulation is a better experience in every way?
If there is something I don't care about bourgeois fucksticks inflating the price of, it is legacy media with a fully functional digital replica.
If you do really want physical, are there not flash carts for GB/GBC/GBA?
Yeah all Pokemon games pre-DS had a save battery that dries up in 15 years or so. Your Yellow save is probably long gone, but replacing the battery is pretty cheap and simple and there are lots of guides.
But yeah, screw investor bros.
